DIY Method to Increase the Clamping Force of Your WindshieldWow!
Want to have a stronger magnetic pull of your WindshieldWow!? Don't think it holds strong enough on your windshield? Or you just want stronger cleaning force? Or maybe you just want a better workout! NO PROBLEM! We have designed the WindshieldWow! so you and adjust the holding force by up to 50% stronger!!!
And you might have everything you need right at home!
Its as simple as placing a 1-3/8" diameter (or 1-1/4") steel disc on the top side of each magnet of one or both of your paddles.
And where do you get such a disc? While we sell these as "Magnetic Concentrator Discs" as an upgrade accessory, you can also just get thick steel washers from the hardware store (or you may even have them lying around your tool box in the garage!
NOTE: Must use Plain Steel (Not stainless steel!!!) These washers or discs must be able to stick strongly to our magnets! Stainless Steel does not stick to magnets and will not achieve any magnetic force increase!)
By attaching a steel disc to the top side of each magnet, what you are doing is redirecting the magnetic force lines that are coming out the top of the magnet, back downward. In other words, you are redirecting wasted magnetic field lines. Here is how to install them:
Achieve 25% Increase in Clamping Force: (Attach 1 inch steel washer to only one paddles magnets)
25% Pull Increase (Use only 4 steel washers)
NOTE: Center the washers over each magnet. You can rub with your finger on the logo sticker to better see the circle impression of where the magnet is. Align the washer to exactly cover the magnet--centered as best as possible.
Achieve 50% Increase in Clamping Force: ( put a washer on each magnet of both paddles)
50% Pull Increase (Use 8 steel washers)
NOTE: Thickness of the steel matters. We recommend at least 1/16 " (or .065") thick washers. The ones shown above can be purchased at Home Depot for under $3 for all 8. These are SKU code AGB at Home Depot. Use 1-1/4" Diameter
